When we founded Boostlingo in 2016, the language services industry was very different. Remote interpreting wasn’t yet the dominant trend—in fact, many LSPs initially resisted it. Onsite interpreting was booming, and some organizations weren’t ready to pivot.

We decided to move forward anyway and built a platform for LSPs to resell and introduce remote interpreting services to their clients easily. Lo and behold, the economic benefits became clear, and many started adopting this technology. Today, our annual research consistently shows LSPs listed in the Slator Language Service Provider Index that use Boostlingo’s interpreting technology grow 3.2x faster than those that don’t.

It’s an exciting moment with rapid technological advancements driven by AI. Yet, it echoes the uncertainty we saw when Boostlingo launched—a time when the language services industry faced a pivotal shift toward remote interpreting. Today’s tumult, amplified by the recent Executive Order complicating language access requirements across the U.S., mirrors that earlier resistance to change. Back then, LSPs that leaned into technology unlocked new growth; now, embracing AI, automation, and innovative solutions is once again the key to thriving in a shifting market. In that spirit, here are three success stories of LSPs harnessing interpreting technology to succeed.

Automation

Automation is now a cornerstone for efficiency and scalability—not just in language services but across all industries. My first story is about Catholic Charities of Louisville. In 2024, they faced mounting demands as refugee and immigrant populations surged, resulting in over 1,000 monthly onsite appointments requiring interpretation across 25-30 languages. Their small team struggled with overwhelming manual processes and documentation.

With Boostlingo’s Interpretation Management System (IMS), they transitioned to an automated, paperless workflow. This significantly improved interpreter scheduling and assignment documentation. The result? Smoother operations and reduced administrative burdens, supporting their small but mighty team to meet the growing interpretation need comfortably.

On-demand remote interpreting

Adding remote interpreting capabilities can amplify an LSP’s business. Access Language Solutions illustrates this perfectly. During the pandemic, Founder Lynn Fors recognized the need for a remote interpreting solution and seized the opportunity to integrate phone and video interpreting services into her existing operations.

When demand for remote services grew, Access Language Solutions phone (OPI) hours skyrocketed from just 20 hours per month before the pandemic to over 300 hours monthly, marking a remarkable 14x growth. Remote interpreting allowed Access Language Solutions to meet the language needs of their community better, serving local nonprofits, medical offices, and immigration clinics more effectively.

Remote simultaneous interpreting

As the event and conference market shifts to shorter and hybrid events, remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI) platforms have become new growth avenues for LSPs. MCIS Language Solutions recognized this opportunity and strategically expanded its offerings to support shorter events.

MCIS adapted to meet evolving client needs. Before, they offered onsite services and equipment, with a 4-hour minimum, and managed multiple vendors to record and add closed captions. With Boostlingo Events, MCIS could provide clients with RSI, which they could offer with no minimum time, and a single solution for recordings, transcriptions, and closed captions. This efficiency allowed them to tackle this growing market and grow the revenue line by 79% in a year.

Embrace technology to grow in 2025

Boostlingo’s mission is to build innovative technology that empowers LSPs and their clients to communicate without barriers and increase language access for all. Our many products serve different use cases in interpreting, but the common denominator is that they add significant value to our customers.

We are committed to helping LSPs leverage technology, embrace innovation, and accelerate their growth. Together, we’ll navigate the future and succeed in 2025 and beyond.
