  Loquatics is the business moniker I conceived in 2015 when launching my consultancy. The idea behind this portmanteau was to evoke a sense of fluent or seamless motion in addressing the complexities of Localization—a field that many content owners have historically viewed as a developmental burden that hinders ambitious objectives.
  Fast forward to 2024, this perception persists, yet the technological landscape of multilingual development has evolved tremendously. Advances in AI-driven translation tools, machine learning algorithms, and cultural adaptation software are transforming how businesses approach localization. In a world where global connectivity is paramount, the integration of AI not only accelerates the localization process but also enhances precision and cultural sensitivity, making it vital for competitive success. Moreover, the industry’s focus on data privacy and compliance with global standards, such as GDPR and CCPA, underscores the importance of ethical localization practices.
  
  In the digital economy, continuous delivery and development have become the norm. However, consistently meeting the needs of your international audience presents a unique challenge. Every time your produ ct evolves, localizing the changes shouldn’t delay its delivery in various languages.
  Localization has often been a sequential, waterfall-like process, mirroring a craftsman delicately shaping wood. Each text string or document becomes an individual project – completed, delivered, standing in stark contrast to the continuous, iterative nature of Agile workflows.
  
  Despite these historical challenges, modern advancements in language technology and Agile project management software have rewritten this narrative.   In today’s endless ocean of language services and solutions, deciding for the right candidate has become challenging for localization project owners. Despite the numerous choices available, the similarity in features offered by competitors, all promising comprehensive solutions for any localization need, complicates the decision making.
  Some software has been around for decades and has undergone significant transformations — transitioning from client-based to cloud-based, introducing internal marketplaces, integrating machine translation, and so on. And although these tools might excel in certain aspects, they may have been less successful in other crucial elements of the process. It is tough to keep track of these developments, and even harder to notice them when under pressure due to impending deadlines that require tooling upgrades.

That’s why my approach to custom CMS, TMS, and PMS integrations is centered on fluency and native harmonization.
