TransPerfect has announced that it has acquired Munich-based dubbing localization provider SPEEECH Audiolingual Labs. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The German dubbing studio provides multilingual adaptation and sound recordings for over-the-top (OTT) content, TV series, and films for the entertainment industry. With the acquisition, SPEEECH will become part of TransPerfect Media, TransPerfect’s media and entertainment division, adding six recording rooms and two mixing rooms to its portfolio.
According to SPEEECH’s website, the company has provided German dubs for the TV series Good Girls, the animated series Rick and Morty, and the 2018 US comedy film The Week Of, among other projects. Its clients include Deluxe, NBC Universal, and Arte.
Founder and Managing Director of SPEEECH Stephan Kleinschmidt said, “Joining TransPerfect opens up opportunities for us to expand our services globally. We are excited that TransPerfect’s extensive resources and cutting-edge technology will enable us to better serve clients worldwide.”
TransPerfect confirmed that the SPEEECH founder will become the division president of TransPerfect Media Germany.
Phil Shawe, Co-CEO and President of TransPerfect stated that TransPerfect Media “is one of our fastest growing divisions.” In 2024, the company acquired media localization firm Content Lab and a Netherlands-based studio from media localization firm Plint.
Last month, the super agency acquired US media technology group Blu Digital Group, and the firm recently consolidated its presence in the DACH region with its acquisition of LSP Apostroph Group in February 2025.
With TransPerfect’s acquisition of SPEEECH, the company has completed six acquisition deals to date in 2025.
