Acolad announced it was awarded two translation contracts with the Translation Center for the Bodies of the European Union (EU) in January 2025. The contracts, identified in the EU tender system as 112792-2025 and 112601-2025, have a combined pre-VAT value of EUR 25m (USD 26m).

The services Acolad is expected to provide under these contracts as the main provider involves translating technical regulations and rules on information services between English and 23 EU languages. 

The source contents fall under the EU’s Single Market Transparency Directive, which mandates clear communication across member states.

Commenting on the contract awards, Acolad CEO, Bertrand Gstalder, said that “by combining the latest technological advancements with our decades of expertise, we are proud to deliver best-in-class services that support the EU’s objectives of transparency and regulatory compliance, ensuring the highest quality for all stakeholders.”

Those contracts include TRAD23, awarded by the European Commission (EC) Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) and expected to last until 2026 (renewals possible), and tender 126176-2024, serving multiple EU institutions and in which Acolad is named as a winner for eight of the 24 contract lots.
